What is the elder care?

Elder care is best defined as any number of personal care and healthcare services available to seniors that are tailored to help meet their needs as they age. Services includes everything from home care services, assisted living, occupational therapy or transportation; the list is endless. These services provide assistance to seniors who may have trouble with daily needs.

Elder care services are not exclusively for nursing home care. In fact, elder care services encompass the whole spectrum of senior living including at-home care, day programs, senior housing, assisted living communities, continuing care retirement communities, nursing homes and the like.

What is the Nursing ?

Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, facilitation of healing, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations.

The unique function of nurses in caring for individuals, sick or well, is to assess their responses to their health status and to assist them in the performance of those activities contributing to health or recovery or to dignified death that they would perform unaided if they had the necessary strength, will, or knowledge and to do this in such a way as to help them gain full or partial independence as rapidly as possible.

What is the Doctor consultation?

A doctor consultation is a consultation which takes place between an employee and a licensed physician for the purpose of determining what medical examinations or procedures, if any, are appropriate in cases where a significant exposure to a hazardous chemical may have taken place. Doctor consultation is important because it is the main opportunity for the doctor to explore the patient’s problems and concerns and to start to identify the reasons for their ill health.

Traditionally, medical history-taking has been based on a conventional medical model and assumed that disease can be fully accounted for by deviations from normal biological function. It gives little consideration for the social, psychological and behavioral dimensions of illness.
